Eleventh graders are invited to begin the final stages of preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, which they receive in the spring.
The new speaker/discussion based curriculum has been developed in the hopes that the students might better understand the role of confirmation in their life and the responsibilities they take on now as a candidate and later as a full and active member of our faith community. This speaker/discussion based program will help them learn more about the Catholic faith and will challenge them to take a deep and meaningful look at their own faith life.
In order to prepare for Confirmation, the students are expected to:
·Choose a Sponsor (a practicing Catholic who is not bound by any Church penalty who the student feels close to);
·Complete 35 service hours in the three areas of family, community, and church;
·Attend a winter retreat;
·Participate in a spring interview with a Parish Staff member; and
·Write a letter to the Pastor which explains their desire to be Confirmed.
